Short story wins runner up in ‘The Prolitzer Prize for Prose Writing, 2012’

My short story ‘A Fig Still Warm from the Sun’ has won one of two runner up places in the ‘Prolitzer Prize for Prose Writing, 2012’. Judged by journalist and author, Mark Piggot, the first prize went to Caroline Healy with ‘Baby River’ and the two runner up prizes went to Mark Wagstaff with ‘The Forties’, and myself. My story will be published in Issue 10 of Prole, April 2013.

‘One Last Thing’ to be published in anthology ‘Cityscapes’

Over the summer I attended a series of creative writing workshops run by author Andrew Killeen, resident writer at The Barber Institute in Birmingham. The theme explored ‘Art & Writing: The City,’ and after discussion and feedback, our final stories were presented to the group. The stories, including my own – ‘One Last Thing’, have been gathered into an anthology called ‘Cityscapes’ and shall be available December 2012.
